Family Pictures

I would love for everyone to jump over to Stacy Landry's Photography blog and take a look at the family pics that Matt took this weekend for us. Normally he and Stacy both take the pictures but Stacy wasn't feeling well, so it was just Matt this time. We hope you are feeling better Stacy (and Emerson)!!!

Please go to StacyLandryPhotography and scroll down to the Bares family to see our pics! This is just a small (very small) sample of the pictures Matt took. I can't wait to see all of them!!! While you are there take a look at all of the other sessions they have done.

Design Team September assignment: Adore

So, the Treasured Memories Design Team meets tonight which means, I am able to post my submission. This month was a little different with the products that we were given. Normally we aren't given paper with our products, but this month we were. It made it a little harder I think but I plowed through it. The products and paper that I was give was:

Tattered Angels Glimmer chips
glittered cardstock
Creative Imagination diecut paper
Jenny Bowlin cards
Bazzill velvet flowers
The challenges that I completed were:

Use the new metallic rub on ink
Use paint
Use combo of Glimmer Mist and Distress Inks

Other Products used: all of the items listed above that were give to me, cardstock, Glimmer Mist in Suede, Forest Green and Vintage Pink, Gold Mirror paper, Rusty Pickle chipboard, Tim Holtz Crackle paint in Peeled Paint and Antique Linen, All Purpose ink in Vegas Gold and Frost White, old Rebecca Sower epoxy stickers, Stickles, Prima bling, Prima flowers, Kaiser pearls, May Arts ribbons, Alcohol ink and Tim Holtz Distress Ink

(Don't forget to click on it to see a larger image!!!)

a close- up

A couple of techniques that I did:
- for the chipboard corners, I painted them with crackle paint. Once they were dry, I started weaving the ribbon in and out of the swirls, twisting the ribbon at the same time.
-I needed some centers for my flowers, but nothing was really looking right, so I took Gold Alcohol ink and used that on some REALLY old epoxy stickers that I have had for years and they became perfect centers for my flowers!!! You can change any non-porous surface with Alcohol inks. They are really a great thing to have around. I also covered the back of the glimmer chips with the alcohol ink and then added a little bit of stickles on the front
-for the Prima bling, the best way to make these stretch is to cut them up and use pieces. This works really well for this type of layout and it makes the product last a long longer

Believe (Tinkerbell Cricut cartridge)

I love the new Tinkerbell cartridge. It has lots of great things on it other than the fairies. As I was flipping through the book, I saw the word Believe and thought to myself that it would be perfect for a Christmas layout.

This isn't the greatest layout I have ever done, but it came together quick and it is done. As I was doing it, I realized that I probably won't have many more of these Santa pictures to scrap since my kids are getting older. I think I had to bribe them to take this one!!!

Products used: Bazzill CArdstock, Creative Imaginations diecut paper, misc. ribbon, Technique Tuesday chipboard, Making Memories journal page, American Crafts Thickers, 7Gypsies stickers, Vegas Gold All purpose ink.

PS. Don't forget to check my blog tomorrow, I will be uploading my latest Design Team submission and if I do say so myself, it is the best one that I have done so far!!!! I really like how it turned out.

TM Clipboard class : Fabulous

I took Wendy's clipboard class yesterday to make a gift for Taylor for Christmas. We are redoing her bedroom in black/white/pink/lime green and I think this will go perfect!!! I wanted to be as girly as it could get so I used lots of bling and stickles and all that girlie stuff. The clipboard is really a nice and heavy one that is really big. If you see the pink background paper, that is a full 12x12 sheet of paper to give you an idea of how big the clipboard is. I plan on printing a really cute picture of her to clip on it before I give it to her. I will post another picture once I get the picture on there.

I hand cut the girl out and added her to the side of the pink Heidi Swapp paper. If you follow my blog, that girl silhouette may be familiar, I used her on my last design team layout. I love her!!!! On the flower on the right of the clipboard, I got another sheet of the paper, cut the flower and used pop dots and then cut out a smaller one and and again used pop dots on that one. All of the "chandalier" charms were handcut from a Glitz paper that I have loved since it came in. I have been dying to use this paper on something, I just need the right project.

Products used: Heidi Swapp paper, Glitz paper, Stickles, Doodlebug, Prima and Heidi Swapp bling, Black Magic ink, Stayz-On ink, Prima flowers, misc. ribbons

King of the Forest

Another quick and easy one, even though it wasn't that quick, lol. I added glitter and flock to all of the chipboard pieces to give them a little something extra. This is the professional pictures from our dance recital last year. This dance was a Wizard of Oz medly and McKenzie was a lion and danced "King of the Forest". Cutest costume ever!!!! This layout seems a little too plain to me, if you have any suggestions, please tell me!!!

Products used: Bazzill cardstock, Rusty Pickly chipboard, misc. pattern paper (can't remember who made it but I know I have had it for a couple of years), Tim Holtz grungeboard, Spare Parts chipboard letters, Doodlebug flock and glitter, velvet paper

Jiminy Cricket

This one came along pretty quickly and is pretty simple, but nonetheless, done and in the book which makes me happy. We didn't meet Jiminy Crickety the first time we went to Disney so we made a point to find him this time. Love him!!!!

Magic (Tinkerbell and Friends Cricut cart)

I won the Tinkerbell cart on Ebay last week, even though I was planning on waiting a while to get it. I love Tinkerbell and Disney so this was a must for me even though, the usage will probably be limited on it. I originally tried doing Tinkerbell at 4 inches and it was quite cumbersome on a couple of the small (very small) pieces. I ended up redoing her at 6 inches and it was much easier to work, but still those eyes, OMG........I need practice on those. I ended up messing them up and adding Stickles to cover it up. I plan on cutting some more just to practice on the eyes.

The picture for this layout is one of those that the Disney Photopass people took and then added Tinkerbell in your hands. It is really a cute picture.

Products used: Sassafrass Lass paper, Making Memories diecut paper, Prima bling, Heidi Swapp foam letters, EK Success Mickey punch, Stickles, Bazzill cardstock

Twilight movie poster.......

I can't wait until this movie comes out!!!!

Classes I took last month......

So I took a couple of classes last month at Treasured Memories and keep forgetting to take pictures so I can post them. The first one was Wendy's calendar class, although I am not a calendar scrapper, I did the layout as a regular layout and just left out the squares for the dates. There was lots of cutting, using glimmer glass (which was a new technique for me) and the new liquid ink (which I fell in love with!!!).

Products used: SEI papers and stickers, glimmer glass, rubon inks, Versamagic ink, Cricut Jasmine cartridge, Basic Grey chipboard, Bazzill cardstock

Then of course, I took Amy's 2nd cricut class. The layouts she has done for these classes are so cute!!!! I don't even really have a use for the two that I have done, but I guess that doesn't really matter. I enjoy just doing the classes and learning different techniques using my Cricut. I didn't have time to finish the layout at the class, so my title is different from hers since I don't have the Stamped cartridge. The next two layouts are just as cute, I am going to have to try to get into a class for those as well.

Products used: Bazzill cardstock, Versamagic ink, Peachy Keen stamp, glitter paper, Cricut Paper Doll and All Mixed up cartridges

playing with my Expression

This weekend, Lee was out of town, the girls were doing their own thing and I decided to play with a few of my scrapping things, mainly my Cricut...... and the paper dolls cartridge. My mom is a HUGE Wizard of Oz fan, and when I say huge, I mean super huge. She is a collector of any and all thing Oz related. So because of this, I decided to try my hand at making some Oz paperdolls. It took awhile, but I had fun doing them!!!! I need to add a ribbon around Dorothy's waist and then they will be completely finished. I used my new Peachy Keen stamps for the faces, I LOVE THOSE STAMPS!!!!

After playing with the paper dolls, I remembered a challenge on Bittenbythebug a few months back and decided to try my hand at that particular cut. Charlotte, one of my fellow design team members LOVES owls and uses them all over her layouts and has actually got me liking owls. Well, liking them more than I did. I still can't seem to use them on my layouts and make them look right like she does. So here are my owls inspired by Charlotte and Bitten by the Bug challenge. This cut is from the Happily Ever After cart!!!!
